Skeletonwitch: "Forever Abomination"
I have to admit, this is the first time I have actually sat down and listened to Skeletonwitch. This is their new album entitled, "Forever Abomination." It is very fast and brutal, but contains elements of thrash, punk, black metal, and death metal. All in all, they are a metal band, and a good one too. With song titles like, 'Shredding Sacred Flesh,' 'Reduced to the Failure of Prayer,' and 'The Infernal Resurrection', how could you not want to pick this up and jam to it. All the songs work together well, and gives it almost a 'Reign In Blood' formula: Loud, fast, and aggressive. There is melody in the songs which reminds me of some Powerslave-era Iron Maiden. However, vocalist Chance Garnette, is possibly one of the most underrated vocalists in extreme music. I must say his voice is some scary shit. I enjoyed "Forever Abomination," but it's not for the faint of heart....hell you only live once, so put on the record, crank it to eleven, and let loose. 8.5/10
